First Phase of Sawantwadi Terminus completed on scheduled

Work on the first phase of the Sawantwadi Terminus on the Konkan Railway route has been completed within a year as promised, said a senior official of the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) here on Friday. The project cost Rs.11.42 crore.

Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu, who had laid the foundation stone of Sawantwadi Terminus in the presence of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis in Sindhudurg district of Konkan in June last year, had promised work will be completed within a year.

A new platform with shed, new Freight on Board and two more lines were created, said a spokesperson of KRCL. —Special correspondent
