To popularise the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Helpline Number-182 among train passengers especially ladies, Railway Protection Force of East Coast Railway encouraging the passengers to register complaints on issues they face during their train journey.
Prompt assistance to the passengers through All India Security Helpline No.182 (Toolfree) will be provided and commuters should use it to complain about their commuting problems.

Effective train escorting through vulnerable analysis, soft skill training to all RPF staff for improving passengers interface and their satisfaction, improved electronic surveillance through CCTV camera to cover 28 Stations in ECoR have now been implemented to prevent the crime.

Awar​eness pamphlets / leaflets are being distributed in trains to educate the train passengers about the use of Helpline No.-182. Apart from this, special drives are being conducted to check unauthorised hawkers, touting activities, travelling on roof, step or engine of a train, travelling in ladies compartment resulting arrest & prosecution to1101unauthorised hawker,05 touts, 635foot board traveller and also600offenders travelling in ladies compartments in last year.

In the current year i.e. from January to June 2016,Railway property worth Rs.68368/- has been recovered with arrest of 40 criminals, 17320offenders under various section of Railway Act has been arrested and prosecuted,17213nos. of trains were escorted by RPF by deploying63356nos. of staff,309offenders of Alarm Chain Pulling have been arrested and prosecuted,7659unauthorised hawkers have been arrested and prosecuted,1691offenders found travelling in ladies compartment are arrested and prosecuted,24 toutswere arrested and prosecuted,354 minorchildren were rescued and rehabilitated, Forest product worthRs.9,00,540/-have been recovered and handed over to concerned department. This has happened the continuous endeavour by the RPF personnel of ECoR.

Apart from this,21Luggage lifters,10Gold ornament/mobile snatcher,12Pickpockets,29offenders of dacoity/robbery and01drugging criminal have been arrested and action has been taken.

Travelling in railways must become better and safer for women. RPF Staff have been sensitised to respond to these calls. Through this initiative, RPF/ECoR wants to take a positive step towards adding to the available support from passengers and general public.​
