Leasing Vacant Land of Railways

Railway land is leased/licensed to Railway customers/ Government Institutions for purposes connected with Railway working, or providing required services for development of the Railways. Vacant Railway land/air-space not required by Railways for its immediate future operational needs is utilised for commercial/property development through Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), wherever feasible, in order to mobilize additional financial resources. An area of 497 hectares has been entrusted to RLDA for this purpose. Railway has earned Rs. 4085 Cr. during the last three years from land leased/licensed for development of Railways against the target of Rs. 3382 Cr.
