Free Wi-Fi in Mysuru city railway station

Train travellers can now enjoy free Wi-Fi at the Mysuru City Railway Station.

Yashtel, a private internet service provider, has tied up with South Western Railway’s Mysuru division to offer the service to the public.
Visitors to the station can start browsing the Internet after registering their mobile with the service provider. “Smartphone users wishing to access the Wi-Fi offered by the private service provider will be sent an OTP (one time password) once they register their mobile phone. They can use the free Wi-Fi for as long as they are at the railway station,” a railway official told The Hindu .

After the inauguration of the services by Atul Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Mysuru, a railway official claimed that the service provider was offering Wi-Fi at 4 mbps speed.

“The Wi-Fi will be available for a distance of 300 metres from the platform,” an official said.
