South Central Railway is best in Safety Records and all the Staff should take pride of it and Safety performance can be further bettered with elimination of human failures said Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway. He was addressing a Safety Seminar on “Human Failures” organized by SCR Safety Organization here at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad today i.e. 17th January 2017. Shri Ram Kripal, Commissioner Railway Safety, South Central Circle attended the Seminar as Chief Guest. Shri A.K. Gupta, Additional General Manager, Principal Heads of Departments were amongst those present in the seminar. SCR Safety Diary and Calendar – 2017 were released on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager said that SCR also accords priority to address the grievances and ensure welfare of the staff. Safety can be achieved only when the staff is well trained and motivated said the General Manager and called upon the staff to be optimistic and achieve highest standards in the areas concerning safety. He advised the officials to analyse the reasons for human failures and find out solutions for the same. Safety is the collective responsibility of all the staff he added.
Shri Ram Kripal, Commissioner Railway Safety, South Central Circle stated that human failures cannot be eliminated but they can be minimized to ensure maximum safety. Lack of knowledge, confidence and experience amongst the safety category staff are main causes of concern in Railways, he averred. Proper training by demonstrative teaching methods and sharing of information on changing technologies will always help in achieving safety. Safety is an area where we cannot relax and should be alert always he added.
Shri Johan Thomas, Chief Electrical Engineer; Shri K Siva Prasad, Chief Track Engineer; Shri S.S. Mishra, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer; Shri A.A. Phadke, Chief Electrical Loco Engineer, Shri K.V. Rao, Chief Traffic Manager General, Prof. Venkata Ramana, IRISET presented case studies and shared their experiences. Shri Shankar Rao, General Secretary, SCR Mazdoor Union and Shri P.S. Narayana Rao, representative of SCR Employees Sangh also spoke in the Seminar.
Earlier today, the General Manager also participated in the Safety meeting held by Chairman Railway Board through video conference. He appraised the Safety measures undertaken by the Zone during month long Safety Awareness Campaign all over Indian Railways.
