HON’BLE MR DEDICATED SERIES OF DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS OF ER TO THE NATION

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways dedicated to the Nation a series of developmental works related to Passenger Amenities over Eastern Railway today (20.1.2017) by remote from Darjeeling.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways dedicated the following :

1) 14.30 km long double line between Jiaganj – Cossimbazar Section of Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division at an approximate cost of Rs. 61.75 crores.
2) 3.28 km long double line between Azimganj Cabin – Poradanga of Eastern Railway’s Malda Division at an approx. cost of Rs. 21.4 crores.

3) 3.40 km long double line between Azimganj Cabin – Gosaingram of Eastern Railway’s Howrah Division at an approx. cost of 14.4 crores. With the completion of the double line, the entire Nalhati- Azimganj Cabin has been doubled which will facilitate coal transportation to and from Sagardighi Thermal Power Plant.

4) 17.69 km long double line between Lebutala and Champapukur Section of Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division at an approx. cost of Rs.137.14 crores which will provide strong impetus for better services in the suburban section.

5) 98.74 km long railway electrification work of Khana-Sainthia-Rampurhat section of Eastern Railway’s Howrah Division at an approx. cost of Rs.145.35 crores. This electrification work has been provided the much demanding operating flexibility apart from saving of energy.

6) Inaugurated LED Lighting of 100 stations of Eastern Railway at an approx. cost of Rs. 3 crores.This will help in evergy conservation.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu also dedicated different developmental works of South Eastern and Metro Railways by remote from Darjeeling.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu appreciated the overall performance of Indian Railways in general and Eastern Railway in particular in the field of freight loading, safety, cleanliness and elimination of unmanned level crossings.

Shri Ghanshyam Singh, General Manager, Eastern Railway, welcoming the guests and Hon’ble Minister, highlighted the overall performance of Eastern Railway in different fields of activities and urged upon the railway employees to continue to devote their best for the even better performance of the Railway.

Shri Arup Roy, Hon’ble Minister, Department of Cooperation, Govt. of West Bengal also spoke o­n the occasion while Shri S. N. Agarwal, GM/South Eastern Railway was present o­n the occasion.
