Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways flagged off a new train service between Tirupati and Vasco Da Gama through remote video link from New Delhi today i.e. o­n 29th December, 2016. Simultaneously a function was held at Tirupati Railway Station to flag off the Train No. 17419 Tirupati – Vasco Da Gama Express by the host of dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering through video conference, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu said that a most cherished wish to run a direct train between Tirupati and Vasco Da Gama has been fulfilled today. The train will meet the aspirations of the people fro
m the state of Andhra Pradesh particularly Tirupati to have a direct train facility to tourism centre Goa as well as meet the wishes of the people of Goa and North Karnataka region to have connectivity to the most revered pilgrim centre Tirupati.
Shri B. Gopala Krishna Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Environment & Forests, Science & Technology and Cooperation, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Smt.Geervani Chandra Prakash, Hon’ble Chairperson, Zilla Parishad, Chittor; Dr.V.Vara Prasada Rao, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Tirupati, Dr.N.Sivaprasad,Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chittor; Shri Y.Srinivasulu Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council; Smt.M.Sugunamma, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Tirupati and Dr.Chadalawada Krishnamurthy, Hon’ble Chairman, T.T.D Trust Board participated in the function.
Shri A.K. Gupta, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway in his welcome address stated that introduction of this new train is yet another testimony of the initiative of Hon’ble Railway Minister in fulfilling the genuine needs of the rail users. The new train service has been conveniently scheduled for the passengers of both the destinations. Shri P. Ganeswara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR; Shri Arjun Mundiya, Chief Mechanical Engineer, SCR; Shri Amitabh Ojha, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division were amongst those officials present o­n the occasion.
Commencement of Regular Train Services wih effect from 5th January, 2017:
Train No. 17419 Tirupati-Vasco-Da-Gama Express Train will depart Tirupati at 11:30 hrs every Thursday and arrive Vasco-Da-Gama at 06:00 hrs o­n the next day.
In the opposite direction, Train No. 17420 Vasco-Da-Gama – Tirupati Express Train will depart Vasco-Da-Gama at 09:00 hrs every Friday and arrive Tirupati at 04:00 hrs o­n the next day. Enroute, these trains will stop at Renigunta, Koduru, Razampet, Cuddapah, Yerraguntla, Muddanuru, Tadipatri, Gooty, Guntakal, Ballary, Thornagallu, Hospet, Munirabad, Koppal, Gadag, Annigeri, Hubballi, Dharwad, Alanavar, Londa, Castle Rock, Kulem, Sanverdem and Magaon stations in both directions.
