FIVE MUMBAI RAILWAY STATIONS GO CASHLESS

To give a boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cashless India push, Western Railway started cashless transaction at five stations of the city. These five stations opt for digital payment application for all facilities like ticket purchase, smart card recharge, refunds, and e-parking, eatery item tea coffee among others. However, the cashless facility cannot be opted for pay and use toilet services at stations. 

The five stations are Churchgate, Mahalaxmi, Dadar, Elphinstone Road and Borivali.

More halt points on Baramulla-Banihal railway track

More halt points have been set up along the Baramulla-Banihal railway track for convenience of commuters, officials said on Sunday.

An official spokesman said that setting up of these halt points has eased movement of daily passengers by giving them timely access to stations.

“The Ministry of Railways recently ordered setting up of four more halt points on the rail line at Razwan (Sanoor Kalipora) between Budgam and Mazhome railway stations, Naidgam between Budgam and Mazhome railway stations, Ratnipora (Pulwama) between Kakapora and Awantipora stations and Sangdan (Kulgam) between Qazigund and Sadura railway stations,” the spokesman said.

PATNA: Ten Bihar MPs attended a meeting of the parliamentary committee members of Danapur division under the East Central Railway (ECR) on Monday and demanded better passenger amenities at all big and small stations besides foolproof security to passengers on trains and stations.

ECR GM DK Gayen, Danapur DRM R K Jha, senior railway officials of the zone and Danapur division were also present at the meeting.
