Shri Sreenidhi B displayed technical skill and rendered dedicated services to carry out IT based solutions such as online application management and exam fees, developed and maintained RRB/Bengaluru website ensuring timely updation, developed LAN based Multi User Document Verification System, etc. His commendable involvement in making arrangements for conducting computer based test against CEN is worth mentioning.

Shri Rakesh Kumar showed outstanding technical skill and rendered commendable services in the development of RRI backup system for early restoration of signalling system which can be restored within a day giving huge cost savings to the Railways. He also contributed significantly in Technical System Application Approval of Electronic Interlocking Installations at 14 stations of Indian Railways to improve the reliability of the system.

Bhilai Steel records its best ever loading for dispatch to Indian Railways



KOLKATA: Bhilai Steel Plant of Steel Authority of IndiaBSE 1.97 % has recorded its best ever loading of 260 metre rails for despatch to Indian Railways in the first quarter of the current fiscal 2017-18 (April to June 2017). 

In Q1FY18, the Plant loaded 65 rakes of 260 metre long rails from its Rail & Structural Mill and Universal Rail Mill for despatch to Indian Railways. This is the highest recorded in any first quarter period so far.

Mumbai railway commute gets better, new local trains will be faster beyond Borivli



The new local trains on the fast corridor beyond Borivli have been allowed to run faster, at a maximum speed of 110kmph.

But Western Railway (WR) sources said this may not really mean getting to your destination faster if you travel between Borivli and Virar.

Sources said after getting a nod from the Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) of the Western Region, the zonal railway revised the maximum speed limit for trains procured under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP-II) on the fast corridor, between Borivli and Virar and Virar and Dahanu Road stations.

Train manufactured for Kolkata Metro flagged off from ICF in Chennai

CHENNAI: Railway Board chairman A K Mittal on Tuesday flagged off an eight-coach train manufactured by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai for Kolkata Metro.

The coaches of the train are on a par with any other metro coaches currently available in India when it comes to technology, ICF said in a statement.

‘Southern Zone Public Timetable’ and ‘Trains At a Glance’ Extended up to 30th September 2017

The validity of the present ‘Southern Zone Public Timetable 2016-17’ and ‘Trains At a Glance 2016-17’ is extended up to 30th September, 2017. Accordingly, the new Zonal Railway ‘Public Timetable’ and ‘Trains At a Glance’ will come into effect from 1st October, 2017.

Tirupati-Hyderabad-Tirupati Rayalaseema Express to be extended to Nizamabad from 1st November, 2017

Ministry of Railways has approved the extension of Tr. No. 17430/17429 Tirupati-Hyderabad-Tirupati Rayalaseema Express to Nizamabad with effect from 1st November, 2017. The train will be speeded up and converted to Superfast Express under “Mission Raftar”. Accordingly, the Train Number will be changed to run as Train No. 12793 Tirupati-Nizamabad and Train No. 12794 Nizamabad-Tirupati Rayalaseema Superfast Express.
