Part of a foot overbridge has collapsed on to railway tracks in Andheri, Mumbai, bringing local train services to a halt. Latest reports say at least five people have been injured in the bridge collapse. An official of the Mumbai Fire Brigade has ruled out the possibility anyone being trapped inside th debris. The incident took place at about 7.30 am. Local train services between Virar and Churchgate have been suspended as the debris of the dilapidated bridge fell on the rail tracks. An official from Disaster Management Unit said that fire brigade jawans and other agencies, including National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), have been mobilised to clear the debris. 

"It's part of Gokhale bridge that connects Andheri east and Andheri west. We are at the spot and trying to check with the locals if some one is missing as they might be trapped under the debris," an official of the Mumbai Fire Brigade said. Mumbai has been receiving incessant rains for the last couple of days.

# Central railway has extended routes of some locals to clear extra rush from Ghatkopar station after part of road overbridge collapsed in Andheri West.

Part of Road Over Bridge collapse in Andheri: Two people injured in the accident. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has also reached the spot. Rescue operation is underway.

Overhead Equipment (OHE) have been damaged and a team of engineers have swung into action to restore it, chief PRO of Western Railway Ravinder Bhakar told PTI.
