The Divisional Railway Hospital, Howrah, Eastern Railway, organized an awareness programme as part of the 100-Day Intensified Campaign on TB Elimination on January 2, 2025. The event was held at the Orthopaedic Hospital, Howrah, under the guidance of Dr. Debasish Guha, Chief Medical Superintendent, Howrah.
The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Venkateshwar Pandey, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent (Health and Family Welfare), Howrah. He emphasized the importance of the 100-day campaign and highlighted the critical role of Indian Railways in supporting the national mission to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB).
Dr. Kangati Sneha Reddy, Additional Divisional Medical Officer (Pulmonology), Howrah, elaborated on TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies.
Dr. Chaitali Patra, Sr. Divisional Medical Officer (Pediatrics), Howrah, discussed the impact of TB on children and pediatric-specific considerations.
To make the session interactive, Dr. Shibani Sardar, Sr. Divisional Medical Officer Howrah, conducted a quiz to evaluate participants' understanding of TB-related topics.
The programme concluded with a summary of the campaign's goals and achievements by Dr. Debasish Guha, Chief Medical Superintendent, Howrah. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Divisional Railway Hospital, Howrah Division, to the national mission of eradicating TB.
This initiative underscores Eastern Railway's steadfast dedication to promoting public health awareness and contributing to the country's efforts to eliminate Tuberculosis.
