RVNL nod to extend Railway Line to Vizhinjam Port

Thiruvananthapuram (TVC): Southern Railway General Manager Rakesh Mishra Thursday said that the proposal to extended railway line to Vizhinjam port site has received green signal from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). The RVNL has conducted a study on the proposal.

Mishra while speaking said that now the state government have to approach the Union Government to find Rs.400 crore needed to build the railway line. He was visiting the project site for the first time.

The Vizhinjam railway line joins to main tracks at south side of the Nemam railway station.

Meanwhile, Vizhinjam seaport company Managing Director has said that the project report will be submitted to Indian Railway shortly.
