Over 800 BPSC candidates protest at railway station

Over 800 Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates today protested at Kishanganj railway station after failing to appear at the exam centre on time alleging late running of trains.

The protesting BPSC candidates gathered at Kishanganj railway station where they raised slogans against railway authorities for delayed arrival of trains and thus denied chance to write papers, District Magistrate Animesh Kumar Parasar said.

The protesters included about 200 girls who had reached here from as far as Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal to appear for the BPSC examination but could not write their papers after the authorities at eight centres cited rules and turned away the examinees who had arrived late by ten minutes or more, he said.

Empathising with protesting examinees, the District Magistrate said he will write to the BPSC to hold a fresh test for those candidates who arrived late.
