• General Manager commissioned New Auditorium at Eastern railway Higher Secondary School at Asansol
Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, conducted an extensive inspection in the Asansol Division today, reflecting the commitment to enhancing passenger services, infrastructure, and educational facilities.
A key moment of the visit was General Manager Shri Deouskar’s interaction with teachers and students at Eastern Railway High School at Asansol, where he reviewed the academic and extracurricular achievements. He also commissioned a new auditorium at the school to bolster cultural and educational activities. The students performed a cultural program, which was highly appreciated by the General Manager, Eastern Railway. As part of his environmental initiative, Shri Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway planted saplings on the school premises, promoting greenery and sustainability.
During his visit, Shri Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway also inspected the newly renovated Divisional Control Office, a critical centre for train operations. He commissioned a new lift to enhance accessibility for employees and visitors, particularly benefiting the elderly and Divyangjan (differently-abled).
At the DRM Office portico, the General Manager, Eastern Railway interacted with Safai Karamcharis (cleaning staff) as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, acknowledging their dedication to cleanliness and distributing gifts as tokens of appreciation. A Nukkad Natak (street play) on “Swachhata” (cleanliness) was performed, raising awareness about maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in railway premises.
Further enhancing operational efficiency, Shri Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway commissioned Pit Line No. 3 at the New Coaching Complex, significantly improving train maintenance capacity. A plantation drive was also carried out, reinforcing the division’s commitment to environmental conservation.
In his interaction with local media, Shri Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway addressed queries related to train operations and upcoming projects. His visit underscored Eastern Railway’s focus on continuous improvement, passenger convenience, and environmental responsibility.
